The Pier 49 Pizza Franchise Process
1) Read all of the information on the Franchise pages of this website.
Become familiar with the Pier 49 Pizza concept and products.
2) Complete the Online Application/Request For Consideration
A Pier 49 Pizza representative will review your application and contact you.
3) Submit a Financial Disclosure.
Please fill out the financial disclosure provided here. This should include a personal financial statement for each potential franchisee.
4) Discovery Day
Come to Salt Lake City to learn more about Pier 49. A store tour will be hosted by CEO Mike Dicou. During this time with Mike, you will be able to ask additional questions about the company, try our award-winning pizza and receive a general overview of what is happening at Pier 49. Once this step is complete you will be given a UFOC (Uniform Franchise Offering Circular).
5) UFOC (Uniform Franchise Offering Circular)
The approval process begins once the UFOC has been thoroughly reviewed by all potential franchisees. This document discloses important information to help you make your decision. Upon receipt of the UFOC, please sign and return Item 23/RECEIPT (page 41) immediately. This receipt must be signed, notarized, and indicates that you did receive the document. Federal law requires you to hold and review this document for 10 business days before signing a franchise agreement.
6) Approval Process
This process usually takes 2-3 weeks.
7) Franchise Agreement
The franchise agreement specifies your territory, and is your "license" to operate a Pier 49 Pizza restaurant. It also outlines the contractual obligations that you will be expected to keep.
8) Business Plan Development
If you desire, a Pier 49 Pizza representative will assist you in developing a business plan.
9) Financing
Pier 49 Pizza does not provide financing. They can however refer you to lending institutions including SBA sources. Your ability to obtain financing depends on your credit history, collateral, income, etc. and is ultimately approved or denied by the lender.
10) Site Selection
A Pier 49 Pizza representative will assist you in selecting a location for your restaurant.
11) Lease Negotiation
A Pier 49 Pizza representative will assist you in negotiating your building lease.
12) Architectural
A Pier 49 Pizza representative will assist you with the store layout and design. You will be provided with an architectural prototype plan. Customizing the plan for your specific location will be at your own expense.
13) Constuction Begins!
A Pier 49 Pizza representative will be available during construction for consultation. Construction times vary based on the time of year and the location of your restaurant, but a typical strip mall location will be completed and ready to open in approximately 60 to 90 days.
14) Equipment and Smallwares
An equipment and smallwares list with approved suppliers will be provided.
15) Training
Pier 49 Pizza representatives will provide comprehensive classroom, "hands-on", actual on-site, and ongoing training and support.
16) Food/Beverage Suppliers
Pier 49 Pizza maintains national pricing contracts with major food and beverage suppliers. This buying power is passed on in savings to you. |
